Today, a fatal shooting occurred at Britton Tavern in Fishers, according to local authorities. Fishers Police Department officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to reports of gunfire at the bar, located in a business strip mall near East 141st Street and IN-37. Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old man inside with fatal gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, WTHR reports.
Fishers Police Department Sgt. Angela Ellison noted that violent incidents are rare in the area and that the establishment has been part of the community for many years. Authorities reported that there is no ongoing threat to the public. A 30-year-old suspect is in custody and is alleged to have been involved in the shooting, according to a statement obtained by FOX 59.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
