
Fort Wayne police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred yesterday, December 2. The Fort Wayne Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 400 block of E. Washington Blvd at around 6:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a gunshot wound suffering adult male, who was quickly transported by medics to an area hospital. Despite receiving urgent medical care, the victim's injuries proved fatal, and having fought for his life, he was eventually pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is yet to be released, pending notification of next of kin.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Fort Wayne Homicide Unit took over the investigation, leading to the identification of 34-year-old Domonique Drew as the shooting suspect. A traffic stop conducted later that evening around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of S. Clinton St and E. Jefferson Blvd resulted in Drew's arrest, as detailed in a statement released by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Drew is currently being held at the Allen County Jail under preliminary charges of Murder.
