The Greenwood Fire Department has enhanced its rope rescue capabilities with support from a Duke Energy grant. Earlier this year, Ladder 91 crews completed a Ropes Rescue Technician course, providing specialized training for high-angle rescue operations, the department shared on its Facebook post.

The training has equipped Ladder 91 crews with essential skills for high-angle rescue operations, where precision and speed are critical. The course covered fundamental techniques such as knot tying, anchor setup, mechanical advantage systems, rope ascent and descent, litter handling, and basic edge transitions.

Greenwood Fire Department’s engine crews completed two weeks of intensive training in the Ropes Rescue Operations course, providing foundational skills that complement the advanced techniques mastered by Ladder 91.
