Following community tips, IMPD homicide detectives arrested 41-year-old Al Fisher II in connection with a recent murder. Officers responded Monday to reports of a woman shot on the 7500 block of S Village Way. She was taken to a hospital but died; the Marion County Coroner later confirmed it as a homicide, IMPD News reported.
Acting on multiple community tips, IMPD Northwest District officers located Fisher on Wednesday in a vehicle on the 5400 block of Georgetown Rd. He attempted to evade arrest, leading to a car chase that ended in a crash, followed by a foot pursuit. Officers detained Fisher without further incident. IMPD News reported that he was arrested on preliminary charges of murder and resisting law enforcement.

The case is now with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine the final charges. IMPD emphasized that Fisher's arrest and the charges are accusations only; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
