Riddle was 62 years old and had served with the Indianapolis Fire Department since February 1986. He was the Chief of Battalion 4 C Shift and a member of IFD Recruit Class #58. His career with the department spanned nearly 39 years.

WISH-TV reported a statement from IFD Chief Ernest Malone, who confirmed Riddle’s passing and extended condolences to his family, including his wife Cheryl, sons Nicholas and Jacob, and grandson Atlas.

According to WRTV, Riddle was known throughout the department for his long service and leadership. Colleagues and community members have shared condolences and memories recognizing his years of service to the Indianapolis Fire Department and the community.
