
A shooting at a Fort Wayne gas station has left a man with life-threatening injuries, prompting a police investigation. The incident took place last night at the Amoco Gas Station located at 437 E. Washington Blvd. Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to the scene after being dispatched at about 6:20 p.m., as per a press release from Lieutenant Gutiérrez, the Public Information Officer.
On arrival, officers found an adult male on the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital where emergency room staff assessed his wounds as potentially fatal. The FWPD has since assured the community that there is "no known threat to the public" at this time, suggesting the shooting may have been an isolated incident, as per the City of Fort Wayne website.
FWPD detectives are actively working on this case, canvassing the area to locate witnesses and securing any video evidence that may have been captured by surveillance cameras.
