A neighborhood dispute between two juveniles in Plantation escalated to gunfire, triggering a temporary lockdown of a nearby school. Local 10 News reported that the incident occurred off-campus on Northwest 16th Street and 70th Avenue, near Plantation Middle School.

The confrontation, which took place after school hours yesterday, resulted in one of the juveniles sustaining a gunshot wound. They were, subsequently taken to an area hospital with injuries deemed not life-threatening. In response to the proximity of the violence, Plantation Middle School was locked down for around 30 minutes, as a security measure.

Plantation Police have not released details regarding the ages of the children involved, nor have they identified any suspects at this time. However, footage provided to Local 10 News showed what seemed to be a teenage boy being taken for medical attention.

An update from the Plantation Police Department was shared on X, stating, "Preliminary information suggests a fight between two juveniles, during which one of the juveniles was shot." The department is actively investigating the matter, and plans to release additional information as it becomes available.
