A drive through Bronzeville turned deadly Sunday evening when gunfire tore into a car on Chicago's South Side, killing an 18-year-old man and injuring two people in their 20s, authorities said. The shooters took off, leaving residents with another grim reminder of how quickly violence can erupt.
What the police say
According to NBC Chicago, the shooting happened around 5:05 p.m. in the 4100 block of South Wabash Avenue near East 41st Street. Police said three unknown offenders approached a vehicle and one of them opened fire. The 18-year-old victim was hit multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the other two victims were a 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman. Both were shot in the leg and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where they were listed in good condition.
Vehicle located nearby
CBS Chicago says the victims managed to drive away after the shooting. Their vehicle was later found in the Douglas neighborhood near 31st Street and Michigan Avenue. No one was in custody as of that report, and Area One detectives were leading the investigation.
