
A fatal shooting on the southwest side of Indianapolis prompted a swift police response and the arrest of a suspect, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Camby neighborhood, on the 8700 block of Blooming Grove Drive, FOX59 reported.
Police responded to a shooting report around 12:05 p.m. and found a man with gunshot injuries, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Using drones and K9 units, IMPD quickly apprehended a suspect, confirming the arrest on social media shortly after 1 p.m.
The victim’s name will be released after next-of-kin notification, with the Marion County Coroner’s Office handling identification. IMPD urged community cooperation, saying, "There will be a large police presence in the area for the next few hours as detectives continue the investigation," and asking anyone with information or video footage to come forward, WTHR reported.
