A tow truck driver from Hialeah faced serious charges after an incident in Sunrise, where he allegedly towed a vehicle with a young child inside. In a disturbing turn of events, the 4-year-old girl fell out of the car as it was being towed. The driver, identified as 34-year-old Sergio Jesus Suarez, was apprehended by police and is facing charges of child neglect, as reported by Local 10 News.

According to the Sunrise Police Department, the father of the child, who had dashed into the Bistro Creole Restaurant for an alleged two minutes, noticed his car being hitched to the tow truck and desperately tried to alert Suarez that his daughter was still inside. Despite his efforts, banging on the window and yelling, Suarez drove off, leading to the young girl sustaining "superficial injuries" after managing to open the door and fall onto the roadway. A witness described seeing the father rescue her from traffic, as detailed in a statement obtained by Local 10 News.

Upon being contacted, All-Ways Towing, the employer of Suarez, was asked to instruct him to return to the scene. Police reports indicate that upon doing so, Suarez tried to evade the authorities once more by attempting to drop the vehicle away from them and leaving the scene. He was consequently stopped within the plaza and arrested.

News of Suarez bonding out of jail was later reported by WSVN. During his court appearance on Monday, Broward Judge Corey Friedman remarked on the nature of the incident, “This is one that stuck out to me this morning. He towed a vehicle, allegedly, without checking whether or not there was anyone in the vehicle.” Suarez's defense attorney claimed he checked the vehicle "three times before he towed it" and was unsure how the incident unfolded, insisting that a spotter had also confirmed the absence of any passengers. The judge ordered Suarez to avoid contact with the victim and to refrain from driving until further notice.

Sunrise Fire Rescue reported that the child suffered minor injuries and was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for further evaluation. Attempts to reach All-Ways Towing for comment resulted in the representative hanging up the phone, as per WSVN's attempt to shed light on the matter.
