Over the weekend, a mobile home fire in Union County resulted in the death of two young children, a heartbreaking event shaking the community. The Union County Fire/Rescue & EMA revealed through social media that the victims were believed to be 3 and 6 years old. According to a report by 11Alive, the fire occurred at Warren Trailer Park and by the time firefighters arrived, the structure’s roof had already collapsed.
A response encompassing all Union County Fire Department stations, including career and volunteer firefighters, was swiftly initiated. Arriving to confront a single-wide mobile home fully in flames, the crews launched an aggressive attack, trying to get the fire under control. Unfortunately, the two children were pronounced dead at the scene, with their identities and further details on the presence of other individuals in the home still unreleased by the authorities.
Authorities have not determined the cause of the fire yet. Union County’s Fire and Rescue extended "our heartfelt condolences to the family," which was shared in a Facebook post remarking on the incident, as reported by 11Alive. It is now under the investigation of Union County Fire, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, who are cooperating together.
