Union City Police Department has confirmed the arrest of James “Jim” Robson, a 56-year-old teacher from Union City, Indiana, as part of an investigation into allegations of child seduction. The arrest was made after claims surfaced of Robson's inappropriate interactions with a student. Robson, who is also a former golf coach at the Ansonia Local School District, is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a student-athlete multiple times since 2012. In a social media post from the department, it was revealed that he is now facing three charges of Child Seduction.
The investigation, which led to Robson's arrest, highlights a concerning breach of trust. A teacher, someone who supposed to be a mentor and protector, is at the center of accusations that shake the very foundations of safety within educational institutions. He was apprehended by the Union City Police Department and is being held in Randolph County Sheriff’s Jail on a $15,000 cash bond, according to a statement on their Facebook page.
The Union City Police Department has collaborated closely with the Darke County Sheriff’s Office throughout this sensitive investigation. No additional details have been released at this time, as authorities have indicated that the investigation is still in progress, and the case will be processed through legal channels.
