Bloomington's residents have another chance to engage with their local government face-to-face at the upcoming Traveling Town Hall on January 26. Mayor Kerry Thomson, City of Bloomington Utilities Director Kat Zaiger, and City Councilmember Isabel Piedmont-Smith will be present to field questions and provide updates on city initiatives. According to an announcement posted on the City of Bloomington's official website, the event is set to take place from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Frank Southern Ice Arena situated in District 1.
These town halls are designed to foster a direct line of communication between Bloomington's leadership and its citizens, enabling attendees to inquire, learn, and express their thoughts regarding the happenings within their city. As reported by the City of Bloomington, the session will commence with "a brief update from Mayor Thomson, followed by a discussion focused on city initiatives and neighborhood priorities." Community members can submit their questions via index cards at the event for city leaders to address.
The Traveling Town Hall is not just geared towards District 1 residents; people from across Bloomington are encouraged to participate and contribute. The meeting will also be accessible to a broader audience, broadcasting live on Community Access Television Services (CATS) with the option for on-demand viewing at catstv.net.
Participants may have an opportunity to ask questions during an open Q&A session if time permits, though city leaders will first address questions submitted in advance.
