A Florida-based bagel chain known for scratch-made dough and craft coffee is setting up shop in Fishers, marking its first foray into Indiana. Jeff's Bagel Run plans to open its inaugural Hoosier storefront at 11745 Allisonville Road before the end of 2026, though an exact opening date has not yet been set.
The new shop will take over a strip mall space next to Noble Roman's where a Total Tan once operated, according to IndyStar. The company has said Fishers will become its first location in the state, with Vice President of Marketing Catriona Harris telling the paper that the city stood out as a natural fit for the brand. Jeff's Bagel Run has also announced that 11 store locations across five states are slated to open by the end of 2026, part of a broader expansion push that has already carried the chain into Florida, Georgia, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina and Colorado.
From Pandemic Kitchen to National Franchise
The chain's Indiana debut is the latest step in a rapid rise that started far from the Midwest. Jeff's Bagel Run was founded in 2019 by stay-at-home dad Jeff Perera and his wife Danielle in Winter Garden, Florida, initially running as a home-delivery operation during COVID-19 lockdowns before opening its first storefront in Ocoee in June 2021, according to The Orlando Real. Perera reportedly began baking at home after being laid off from his job in senior living management.
The business scaled quickly once tech entrepreneur Justin Wetherill, co-founder of uBreakiFix and 1337 Capital, joined as President of JBR Franchise Co. in June 2023 alongside Vice President of Marketing Catriona Harris, as reported by News 6 WKMG. Wetherill brought both capital and multi-unit franchise experience to help transform the local Central Florida shop into a multi-state brand. By February 2026, the chain had surpassed 30 open locations nationwide, with more than 100 additional franchise units in active development, per Fast Casual.
What's on the Menu at the Fishers Shop
Jeff's Bagel Run makes its bagels from scratch, mixing, rolling, boiling and baking them fresh throughout the day rather than in a single early-morning batch. The standard menu offers 16 scratch-made bagel varieties daily — 15 core flavors plus a rotating Bagel of the Day — alongside 17 house-whipped cream cheese spreads, according to a report from The Ponte Vedra Recorder. The chain also announces its weekly bagel flavors on Instagram and serves craft coffee, a program that expanded after the company acquired its longtime Winter Garden coffee supplier, Otus Coffee, in July 2024, vertically integrating roasting into its operations, as reported by Daily Coffee News. Otus founders Glen and Jaclyn Turchin joined the company full-time to lead beverage development.
The brand's culinary reputation got a boost in October 2023, when its scratch-made bagels were named among “America's Best Bagels” at the 4th Annual NYC Bagelfest in New York City, a major industry competition judging bagel artisans from around the world, per Fast Casual. Opening a Jeff's Bagel Run location isn't cheap: the company's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document lists a $30,000 initial franchise fee and total investment ranging from $537,558 to $813,790, with top affiliate-operated stores recording $1.25 million in annual sales in fiscal year 2024, according to Entrepreneur. Franchisees are required to be hands-on operators rather than absentee investors.
Landing on a Corridor Under Construction
The Fishers location sits along a stretch of Allisonville Road where the city has launched $12.4 million in 2026 infrastructure investments, including extended left-turn lanes and upgraded traffic signals at the nearby 116th Street intersection, with completion expected by October 2026, according to WTHR. That intersection project was originally planned as a roundabout before city engineers opted for signalized lane modifications instead. It remains unclear how the ongoing construction timeline will line up with the bagel shop's own opening, which as of August 26, 2026, still has no confirmed date.
The site also falls within the city's broader Allisonville Road Corridor Revitalization Plan, formally adopted in March 2023 to modernize aging strip centers in west Fishers and connect commercial areas to public recreation projects, including the 125-acre Fishers White River Park at 96th Street that opened in late 2025.
