Over the past weekend, the City of Carmel experienced significant winter weather that tasked local authorities with keeping the community safe. The Carmel Police Department took to social media to acknowledge the efforts of their officers as they navigated the challenges posed by snow and ice.
"This weekend was a busy one, and we want to recognize the hard work and dedication of our officers who were out keeping our community safe through challenging winter conditions," the Carmel Police Department's Post said. They also thanked the Carmel Street Department for their critical, often unseen work in keeping the city moving safely.
Due to winter weather, the department advised residents to limit travel so Street Department and cleanup crews can improve road conditions. Carmel Police Department said, "Stay home if you’re able and avoid unnecessary travel while road conditions improve."
The Carmel Police Department continued to provide updates and guidance through their platforms, instructing Carmel residents to use their non-emergency line at 317-571-2580 for assistance that does not constitute an emergency. In critical situations, they emphasized, residents should not hesitate to dial 911. They closed their message with a note of gratitude: "Thank you, Carmel, for looking out for one another."
