Fort Wayne Police Department officers initiated an investigation on January 3rd into allegations of child molestation involving a six-year-old girl and Breon Russell, who is now in custody. Russell, 25, faces serious charges, including an attempt to commit level 1 felony child molestation, child molestation at levels 2 and 3, child exploitation at level 4, as well as possession of child pornography.

According to the City of Fort Wayne, the investigation revealed a second alleged child victim. Detective Michelle Brown of the Crimes Against Persons Unit, with support from the Gang & Violent Crimes Unit and the Vice & Narcotics Division, located and arrested Russell on January 9.

Following his arrest, Russell was taken to the Allen County Jail, where he awaits charges related to the allegations against him.

The charges have drawn significant attention in Fort Wayne. The Fort Wayne Police Department continues to investigate, and prosecutors have not yet formally filed charges in court.
