The Huntington County Coroner's Office confirmed that Patricia A. Jackson, 58, of Huntington, was killed in a Monday collision on U.S. 24. Her Jeep slid across the median and was struck by an oncoming semi-truck between Roanoke and Huntington, WANE reported.
Authorities said slick roads likely caused Jackson to lose control of her Jeep. The Huntington County Sheriff’s Office told 21Alive News that the slippery conditions were a primary factor in the crash. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene, and the coroner ruled her death an accident.
The semi driver, who was involved in the T-bone crash with Jackson, was identified as 40-year-old Aaron Amyx from Harrison, MI. Amyx was reportedly uninjured in the ordeal. The information was made available through a release from the Huntington County Sherriff’s Office, as cited by WISH-TV.
