The Indiana Hoosiers football team and their fans have traveled to Miami for the College Football Playoff National Championship. The team is set to face the Miami Hurricanes on Monday night, FOX59 reports.
IU alumni and supporters have shared their excitement for the game. WISH-TV reported that local fans expressed pride in the team and in Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who is originally from Miami.
The Regan family, long-time IU supporters, told WANE they plan to attend the game and follow the team’s progress, noting previous turnouts at the Rose Bowl and Peach Bowl.
The championship game will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN. The team is scheduled to return to Indiana on Tuesday.
