Indiana's up-and-coming politicos take note: the Indiana House is on the lookout for young minds to step inside the halls of governance and get a front-row seat to state legislation in action. State Rep. Beau Baird from Greencastle is leading the charge to invite students, 13 to 18 years old, to jump into the fray as part of the 2026 House Page Program, according to official communications released by Indiana House Republicans.

Indiana teens get a firsthand look at how laws and policies are made, said Baird. Participants will experience the legislative process up close, explore the historic Statehouse, and even meet their state representatives—all while being excused from school for the day.

The program, which kicks off every January, is set up to accommodate these young participants on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays right up until the legislative curtain call. For those students keen to schedule their political deep-dive or for parents shepherding their kids toward civic engagement, applications are open and can be tailored to preferred dates. "Serving as a page is a great way for students to see how state government works up close," Baird said, as noted by the Indiana House Republicans.

Groups can schedule a Wednesday visit by contacting the Page Program director. Participants are responsible for their own meals and travel. For details, visit IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram. The program gives young Hoosiers a chance to experience state government firsthand.
