A pedestrian accident late Thursday night in Fort Wayne has left a man in life-threatening condition. According to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department, the collision occurred at around 11:05 pm near 3700 West Coliseum Blvd.
The FWPD and medics responded to the scene, where they found the male victim conscious, yet injured, on the pavement. Despite not being suspected of speed or alcohol involvement, the driver of the vehicle that struck the man is cooperating with officers. The victim, whose identity has yet to be revealed, received immediate aid and was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
Due to the seriousness of the pedestrian’s injuries, FWPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT), with support from the Air Support Unit (ASU), is leading the investigation and documenting the scene. FACT involvement typically signals critical or potentially fatal outcomes.
