The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has concluded its seasonal Grinch Busters Initiative, which ran from November 21, 2025, through Sunday. The program focused on preventing criminal activity in busy shopping areas and businesses during the holiday season.
During the initiative, officers increased their visibility and collaborated closely with retail partners to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure public safety. The Grinch Busters program led to 98 felony arrests, 63 misdemeanor arrests, and 24 warrant arrests. Officers also seized significant quantities of controlled substances, including 124 grams of cocaine and 181 grams of marijuana, and recovered 14 firearms.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office also issued 135 citations during the initiative, according to the county's release. The figures highlight the department’s focus on proactive policing and crime prevention, particularly during the holiday shopping period when opportunistic crimes tend to increase.
