The weather in Miami maintains its warm grip as we head into the weekend. According to a forecast from the National Weather Service, Miami is looking at a 20 percent chance of showers later in the day with mostly sunny skies and highs hovering near 80 degrees. Winds will be coming in from the southeast at about 7 to 10 mph. You can expect the temperatures to drop slightly tonight with a low around 69 degrees and east winds around 6 mph that will become calm after midnight.
The trend of mild weather doesn't seem to temporarily slow down, with the National Weather Service predicting a high of around 81 degrees for tomorrow. Although the calm winds will pick up slightly, becoming northeast around 6 mph in the afternoon, the rain chances are sticking firmly at a low 20 percent. Meanwhile, Local 10 reports similar weather for this weekend with highs expected to reach the low 80s and rain chances staying scant.
As tomorrow night approaches, the foreboding of a cold front from the north may bring slightly cooler temperatures and a 30 percent chance of showers, says the National Weather Service. The fronts continue to push their way through, leading to a mostly cloudy Monday with highs around 76 degrees and northeast winds gusting as high as 21 mph.
It won't be long before Miami residents can to again enjoy warmer temperatures. According to Local 10, "Near record warmth is expected" on Saturday which could raise the thermometer to near the date's record high of 84°F. However, as the weekend wanes, a shower or two could occur, "particularly late Sunday as a cold front approaches and crosses the region." Cooler weather is slated to return Monday.
Concluding the week, Wednesday ups the ante with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but it's not time to pack away the sun hats just yet. Sunshine will make a comeback on Friday, with highs near a more moderate 69 degrees according to the National Weather Service forecast.
