
A motorcycle accident on Interstate 95 in Miami resulted in the death of the rider this morning. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the Airport Expressway. NBC Miami reported that the motorcyclist reportedly lost control and struck a guardrail.
After being ejected from the motorcycle, the rider landed on a grassy embankment and died from his injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol, responding to the crash near State Road 112, confirmed the rider was deceased. Lt. Alex Camacho, in a statement obtained by Local 10, said the motorcyclist “was ejected and landed in the grassy embankment, where he died from his injuries.”
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision. The road, which was temporarily closed following the accident, has since reopened to traffic.
