Nashville residents can expect a wet start to their weekend, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast for the area. Overnight showers are anticipated, with a calm wind and a high likelihood of precipitation reaching around 80 percent. Newcomers and long-term citizens alike should prepare for some wetness on the ground, with predictions suggesting less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall.
The damp conditions are set to continue into Saturday morning, but the rain should largely subside by 10 a.m. The day’s temperatures will peak at about 61 degrees before dropping later in the day. As Nashville’s dwellers brace for this change, they should also be aware of a wind shift to the west-northwest, increasing from a light and variable breeze to a more substantial 10 to 15 mph, with potential gusts up to 20 mph. An accumulation of up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible.
As noted by the NWS, Nashville, the skies will begin clearing on Saturday night, ushering in a temperature drop to around 33 degrees with a consistent northwest wind. Sunday promises brighter skies with sunny spells, and a peak temperature hovering near 42 degrees. Nashville's citizens will experience northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph, accompanied on occasion by stronger gusts.
Looking ahead into the week, the nights will remain chilly, particularly on Sunday night when temperatures are expected to plunge to around 23 degrees. Nevertheless, the start of the new workweek brings more sunshine, with Monday's high edging back up to the comfortable 50-degree mark. Despite the chills that would occasionally punctuate the evening’s calm, such moments are fleeting as inhabitants look forward to Tuesday's warming trend, with temperatures expected to climb close to 59 degrees. Residents interspersed among Nashville's rolling hills should also expect lively southwest winds, which could reach speeds of up to 15 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
The relatively placid weather, however, is forecasted to take a brief turn midweek, with Wednesday bringing a 30 percent chance of showers and mostly cloudy skies. These conditions will likely endure into the evening, though the likelihood of rain will decrease slightly. The rest of the week’s outlook includes a mix of partial sunshine and clouds, with occasional chances of rain showers and daily high temperatures ranging from 40 to 48 degrees.
