The Speedway Police Department has addressed the commotion over a video making rounds online, which allegedly shows concerning activities at Wings & Kabobs on Crawfordsville Road. In a bid to quell unease, they've taken to social media, shedding light on the actions they've undertaken, as noted in a Facebook post by the Town of Speedway. A patrol officer was dispatched to investigate the situation soon after they got wind of it, and subsequent observations by the officer showcased nothing out of the ordinary, no evidence of any underhanded activity was found, which the department hoped would pacify the rampant speculation online.
Speedway Police conducted a follow-up visit the next day—through their Code Enforcement unit—as is their standard procedure in handling such claims, they did their due diligence, yet once more, their findings did not corroborate the dubious claims spreading like wildfire across social media, the officer's report was clear, and the department has been transparent about this, ensuring that the public gets only the most accurate update on the situation in their community. "The following day, Speedway Police Code Enforcement conducted a separate follow-up inspection as part of standard procedure," the department stated, "again, no violations or wrongdoing were discovered," as noted by the Town's Facebook post.
The department's message to the public remains steadfast: they urge the community to practice caution and refrain from forming hasty judgments based solely on social media chatter, the unverified online claims should not be the foundation upon which their perceptions of the establishment are built. In their public statement, the department emphasized this, saying, "We understand the concerns raised by the public and take all reported incidents seriously. However, we encourage residents to avoid drawing conclusions based on unverified online content," as obtained by the Town's post.
Remaining vigilant, the Speedway Police have committed to keeping a watchful eye on the situation, ensuring that if any tangible evidence should surface that warrants further scrutiny, they will not hesitate to act. As the Town of Speedway post concludes, "The Speedway Police Department will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if any new, factual information becomes available."
