The Bloomington/Monroe County Human Rights Commission is inviting students in kindergarten through sixth grade to enter its Art & Essay Contest. According to the City of Bloomington, the theme asks: “Where do you see people caring for each other in our community?”
Entries are due March 13, 2026, and may be submitted online at bton.in/HRC2026 or dropped off at Bloomington City Hall. Submissions must include the student’s name, school, and parent or teacher contact information. Teachers may also email class entries to [email protected].
Students can submit either an artwork or a one-page essay. Winners will receive passes to the WonderLab Museum, and all entries will be displayed at City Hall throughout April. For more information, contact Special Projects Coordinator Michael Shermis at 812-349-3478 or [email protected].
