The Carmel Police Department is reminding drivers to use their turn signals early and often, calling it one of the simplest ways to improve road safety. In a recent Carmel Police Department's Post, the department described blinkers as tiny amber promises to the drivers around you.
Police urged motorists to signal at least 100 feet before turning, giving others time to react safely. The department said consistent signaling can help reduce rear-end crashes, keep traffic moving, and prevent sudden surprises on the road.
Drivers were also encouraged to use signals when changing lanes, turning into neighborhoods, and merging onto major routes like Keystone. The post closed with a clear message: Drive alert. Drive predictably. Drive Carmel safely.
