A Guatemalan national living in Lake Worth Beach has been sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison after pleading guilty to assaulting two ICE officers. Fredy Aureliano Morales-Ramirez, 39, was arrested following an incident on Aug. 13, 2025, when officers attempted to take him into custody during a vehicle stop, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
Federal authorities reported that Morales-Ramirez did not comply with officers’ commands, attempted to put his vehicle into drive, and resisted arrest by pushing the officers and grabbing at their handcuffs. He then attempted to flee on foot from the passenger side of the vehicle. During the struggle, Morales-Ramirez struck the officers on their arms and torsos before being restrained on the ground with assistance from a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
The investigation was conducted by ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Ralston. Court records for the case are filed under number 25-cr-80140 in the Southern District of Florida.
