Miami-Dade County gears up to unveil the latest contribution to affordable housing with the grand opening of Metro Grande III set for February 27. Located in Hialeah, the development is the third phase of the Metro Grande project, spearheaded by Cornerstone Group. Offering 84 apartment homes, the complex targets families earning between 30% to 70% of the Area Median Income (AMI), as reported by Miami-Dade County's announcement.
Emphasizing a commitment to both affordability and quality, the smoke-free community includes a variety of amenities like a business center, fitness studio, and electric vehicle charging stations. The apartments themselves feature modern conveniences, from energy-efficient appliances to high-speed internet access. Notably, the pet policy at the complex stipulates that only service animals are permitted, ensuring a comfortable environment for all residents. To bring this development to fruition, Cornerstone Group secured over $11.4 million in funding from Miami-Dade County, a testament to the local government's investment in sustainable and accessible housing solutions.
The Metro Grande III opening is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at 1015 W 19th Street, Hialeah, FL 33010. Dignitaries scheduled to attend include District 6 Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis, Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo, Miami-Dade County Assistant Director of the Office of Strategic Initiatives and Planning Elissa Plancher, and Hialeah Housing Authority Executive Director Julio Ponce, a clear indicator of the project's significance to the community, as detailed by the county's website.
As part of a broader initiative, this phase of Metro Grande not only addresses the pressing need for affordable housing but also includes on-site amenities such as a pharmacy and food hall for residents.
