In a recent operation, the North District IMPD apprehended four individuals during a probation compliance check, as reported via the department's social media. Yesterday, IMPD's North District Officers worked in cooperation with the Violence Reduction Team (VRT) and Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) to carry out a check in the 5900 block of Keystone Avenue. This routine procedure quickly escalated into an arrest situation upon the discovery of illegal items within the premises.

The search yielded numerous illicit goods and weapons, including six firearms, one machine gun conversion device, and 2 grams of suspected fentanyl pressed pills. Additionally, approximately 6 pounds of suspected marijuana and drug-dealing paraphernalia were seized from the location. The severity of the offenses was to greatly intensify due to the proximity of the residence to a local school zone. The IMPD's decision to obtain and execute a follow-up search warrant was a direct result of at least one occupant's probation terms, which prohibit the possession of firearms in the home.

According to the North District IMPD's statement, the arrests included 24-year-old Adrian Stewart, 26-year-old Nylique Blair, 24-year-old Kevin O'Neal, and 25-year-old Elexis Williams. Stewart faces preliminary charges that include dealing marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, while Blair's preliminary charges encompass possession of a machine gun. O'Neal and Williams also face charges related to marijuana and visiting a common nuisance, respectively.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office has not yet filed charges. Arrests are only accusations, and the individuals should be considered innocent until proven guilty. IMPD’s actions reflect ongoing efforts to maintain public safety, particularly near schools. The investigation’s outcome will depend on due process and judicial decisions.
