An urgent manhunt is underway in Beech Grove after two police officers were shot last evening. The Indiana State Police Indianapolis District Public Information Officer, John Perrine, took to social media to alert the public and request assistance in locating the suspect believed to be responsible for the violent act. Perrine shared a description of the wanted man, last seen northwest of Beech Grove High School, donning a blue hoodie with a hood or similar head covering.
Suspected shooter Kenneth Terrell Johnson, 47, has been labeled as armed and dangerous. Authorities are cautioning residents to avoid any interaction with the suspect and instead, alert law enforcement immediately to any possible sightings. Johnson's photograph and physical description were disseminated, illustrating an immediate need to recognize and report, yet not confront, the individual believed to have wounded two of Beech Grove's police force. "Suspect wanted for shooting two Beech Grove Police Officers earlier this evening," Officer Perrine stated in his post.
