
The Metropolitan Police Department has announced a successful arrest in connection to a recent business burglary. According to official reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, when a man entered a business located at the 2000 block of 14th Street, Northwest.
Authorities indicated that the suspect, later identified as 63-year-old Tony Jones, accessed the establishment unlawfully at around 12:04 a.m., making off with currency from the cash register. Fleeing the scene, Jones was arrested by officers canvassing the area nearby later that same day.
As the local community grapples with this breach of security, many are relieved to learn that the MPD has taken quick action against the perpetrator. Jones, who reportedly is of no fixed address, now faces charges related to second-degree burglary.
