Early this morning, a home on the 1000 block of 14th Street in North Tamarind fell victim to a fire that officials believe was triggered by a space heater, as the West Palm Beach Police and Fire Departments were summoned to the scene at approximately 7 a.m. reports from local authorities state.
Fortunately, no residents were injured, as everyone was able to evacuate safely, according to first responders. While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, initial findings suggest it may have been accidental, possibly linked to a heating device commonly used during colder months, as per the City of West Palm Beach release.
Efforts to assist displaced residents are underway, with local support services providing aid as they cope with the aftermath. Authorities say the investigation into the fire’s origin is ongoing, and updates will be released as they become available.
