Authorities say his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, and a 47-year-old woman was taken into custody on an attempted murder charge.
Police traced the incident to the 1400 block of NE 14th Avenue, where investigators processed the scene for evidence. Officers and paramedics responded after the victim arrived on NE 2nd Avenue, piecing together the events leading up to the shooting, as reported by KATU.
Arrest and charges
Police identified the suspect as 47-year-old Carlena Autry. She was booked on multiple felony counts, including attempted murder in the second degree, attempted assault, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm, according to KATU. "The victim suffered injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening," police said in the report, a rare bit of good news in an otherwise grim morning for everyone involved.
