
DC Police have made an arrest in the case of an armed robbery that took place in Southeast Washington. The incident, which occurred on the evening of January 14, involved a suspect threatening a victim with a handgun before fleeing with stolen property.
Details from the Metropolitan Police Department's official announcement state that the confrontation happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 2500 block of Naylor Road, Southeast. The victim was approached and robbed at gunpoint by the suspect, who subsequently made off with the goods.
After a month-long investigation, authorities have apprehended 33-year-old Michael Collins of Southeast, DC. He was arrested yesterday and now faces charges of Armed Robbery (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol Without a License. A handgun, believed to be the weapon used in the robbery, was recovered at the time of Collins' arrest.
