The Westfield Police Department in Indiana is reaching out to the community with a unique request. With progress underway on constructing their new police department building, the Westfield PD is looking to adorn its walls with slices of history.
In a recent social media plea, they asked residents for contributions of historical photographs, uniforms, equipment, and other artifacts related to the department's past. "As we build our new police department, we want to display historical photos, uniforms, equipment, etc throughout the building," the department posted on Facebook.
With #ThrowbackThursday serving as their rallying cry, the aim is not simply to decorate but to foster a tangible connection between the department and the people it serves. "Did you have a family member in law enforcement in this area? Do you have any old boxes of photos up in the attic? Please take a look for us and reach out," encourages the department. "We are seeking photos or other items from the history of our police department," they clarion to all who might hear the call.
