Clarksville police say a 59-year-old former college dean known by the nickname "The Professor" is facing felony charges after officers seized roughly 78 grams of suspected methamphetamine, counterfeit cash and drug paraphernalia during a nighttime bust at his home.
Officers executed a search warrant at the Clarksville residence on Scenic Drive on March 7, then watched as the suspect drove away. Around 9:30 p.m., police pulled him over, stopped the vehicle and arrested him without incident. Authorities identified the suspect as Alan White.
According to WDRB, a probable-cause affidavit states that White had been the focus of a yearslong investigation into local drug dealing.
What officers say they found
Once inside the home, investigators say they uncovered two plastic bags holding a "crystal like substance" identified as methamphetamine. One bag was found tucked inside a cigarette box in White's bedroom, while the other was reportedly hidden in ceiling tiles alongside counterfeit bills.
In total, police reported recovering about 78 grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. "This is yet another example of the dedication of our officers," Clarksville Police Chief Nathan Walls said, adding, "He's definitely no Walter White," according to WDRB.
White was charged with dealing methamphetamine, counterfeiting and possession of paraphernalia.
Background and next steps
Police described White, 59, as a former college dean, though the department did not name the institution in its news release.
Prosecutors have filed charges in Clark County, and the case is now headed into the local court system. Public records did not list an initial court date at the time of reporting, and the Clarksville Police Department says the investigation is still active, with the possibility of additional details being released as it continues.
As with any arrest, White is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. We will update this story if officials release new court filings or further statements.
