Officers discovered the man inside the residence, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. According to a post on the Westfield Police Department Facebook page, officers were dispatched at 7:24 p.m. on a report of a person down in the 3900 block of Westfield Road. When they arrived, officers found an adult male with apparent trauma, and Westfield Fire Department medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
The department's Criminal Investigations Division is treating the case as a suspicious death, processing the home and going door to door in the neighborhood to find potential witnesses.
