A 16-year-old was shot Monday morning along the 1800 block of State Road 84, just east of I-95, and was taken to Broward General Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening, according to Fort Lauderdale police. Officers rushed to the area after reports of gunfire around 10:30 a.m. and found the teen on the scene with a gunshot wound. Detectives stayed in the area through early Monday afternoon as they worked to piece together what led to the shooting, and no arrests had been reported by that time.
According to NBC 6 South Florida, officers found the victim on the roadway before emergency personnel transported the teen to Broward General Medical Center, where staff described the injuries as non-life-threatening. Police have not released any information about potential suspects or a possible motive as the investigation continues.
