Downtown Indianapolis is getting more than layups and jump shots this Final Four weekend. SWISH Arts & Culture Festival is turning the core of the city into a four-day arts block party, dropping more than 200 local artists, performers, vendors and chefs across Monument Circle, PNC Plaza, 1 Virginia Ave., Georgia Street East and the Starbucks patio on South Meridian from April 3–6. The free, family-friendly series pairs live music, fresh sidewalk murals, walking tours and a Stutz-based food market with the NCAA men's Final Four rolling into town.

Where the shows are and when

The festival runs April 3–6 with performances spread across five stages and sets running roughly from noon to 6 p.m. each day, according to the Indy Arts Council. The guide lays out full lineups and maps for Monument Circle, 1 Virginia Ave., PNC Plaza, Georgia Street East and the Starbucks patio at North Meridian and East Pearl. PNC Plaza's Friday roster, for example, includes Kingflower, The Jazz Mamas, Taylor Hall and Ghosts of Kin, while Monument Circle and 1 Virginia Ave. keep acts rotating through Monday.

Food, markets and pop-up art

Epicurean Indy returns to the Stutz on Saturday, April 4, with a free Epicurean Market that features more than 50 vendors and a MOKAO chocolate-and-coffee exhibition. Epicurean Indy lists the market's vendor roster along with ticketed MOKAO events for anyone who takes their cocoa as seriously as their basketball. SWISH will also roll out new public art around downtown and a Herron School of Art poster giveaway for visitors hunting for a souvenir. Organizers are stressing that many of these activations are paid opportunities for local creatives rather than the usual "great exposure" pitch.

Part of a larger championship week

SWISH is sharing the stage with a packed slate of college-basketball championships. Along with Division I's Final Four games on April 4 and the title game on April 6, the city is also hosting Division II and III finals and the NIT semifinals and final in the same week. The NCAA notes it is the first time four men's postseason championships will land in one city in one week, and that 2026 marks Indy’s ninth stint as host of the Division I Final Four. Organizers framed SWISH as a way to put local talent in front of all those visitors and "invite everyone to explore downtown and discover the creativity that makes our city special," per the event announcement.

Plan your visit

All SWISH activations are free and family-friendly, and organizers suggest checking the Indy Arts Council guide for any last-minute schedule updates. Posters designed by Herron students will be available at The INDEX, the Stutz and the Indianapolis International Airport for visitors who want an easy-to-pack keepsake. With multiple championships and festivals happening at once, Visit Indy recommends leaning on transit and walking, and building in extra time for crowds, instead of banking on a quick downtown parking spot.
