According to a district news release from HSE Schools, the board approved a three-year contract that runs through April 2029, with an option to extend starting in December 2027. The agreement includes a base salary of $206,250. Board President Tiffany Pascoe said, "The Board of School Trustees is proud to appoint Dr. Matt Kegley as Superintendent," and praised his steady guidance during the transition. From principal to district leader
Kegley brings roughly 30 years of experience in education, including about 20 years with HSE, and has previously served as principal at Riverside Junior High and Hamilton Southeastern High before moving into district administration, the release states. "I am honored by the opportunity to continue serving Hamilton Southeastern Schools as superintendent," Kegley said in the statement. He and his family are longtime Fishers residents, and the district highlighted his deep ties to the community as part of the decision.

Kegley had been serving as interim superintendent since early March following the resignation of former superintendent Pat Mapes, local reporting shows.
