Indianapolis police say a sweeping citywide crackdown ended with 133 people in cuffs after a multi-day push focused on suspects tied to violent or serious crimes. Along the way, officers scooped up dozens of guns, a stash of drugs and more than $41,000 in cash that investigators say is connected to criminal activity. The operation, dubbed Operation Guardian, was led by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department with help from multiple specialty units.

According to WIBC 93.1 FM, officers seized 35 firearms and two devices capable of making a gun fire automatically, along with fentanyl, cocaine and pills. The station reports the busts came out of a coordinated, multi-day push targeting people investigators believe are fueling violence in Indianapolis. Those arrested are accused of a wide range of offenses, and prosecutors will have the final say on what charges, if any, actually get filed, WIBC 93.1 FM notes.

Operation Guardian Is A Recurring Multi-Agency Sweep

Operation Guardian is a recurring crackdown, not a one-time sting. A similar multi-agency sweep in September 2025 led to 116 arrests and significant seizures of guns, conversion devices, drugs and cash, as reported by WRTV. City and federal law enforcement have used these Guardian details as one of their go-to tactics in trying to tamp down violent crime.

What Officers Seized This Week

Investigators did not walk away empty-handed. According to WIBC 93.1 FM, this week’s operation turned up 35 firearms, two devices that can convert a gun to fire automatically, fentanyl, cocaine and pills, along with more than $41,000 that investigators say is tied to criminal activity. All of it was collected over the course of the multi-day sweep.

Multi-Agency Partners

While IMPD specialty units took point, they were not working alone. The operation included support from the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, Indiana State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service and the FBI. Federal partners have joined past Guardian efforts as part of the city’s broader enforcement strategy, WRTV noted.

What's Next

For now, everyone arrested in the sweep is sitting in a legal holding pattern. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will review each case and decide what charges, if any, to pursue. Over the coming days, court filings and public records will show which arrests turn into formal charges or indictments and which ones do not.
