New Hope of Indiana is betting big on its future on Payne Road, rolling out Imagine More, a $4 million capital campaign that would overhaul its Indianapolis campus and expand life-skills and employment training for people with disabilities. The project includes a new community and multi-purpose room, a commercial teaching kitchen, and upgraded outdoor spaces designed from the ground up for accessibility and inclusion. The nonprofit bills this as the largest fundraising effort in its history as it works to modernize facilities that serve residents and program participants across Marion County.

As reported by WISH-TV, the campaign has already pulled in roughly $3,350,000 toward that $4 million target, leaving about $650,000 still to go. The station also notes that the Payne Road campus spans roughly 14 acres. Marking the milestone, New Hope CEO Allison Wharry said, “As we celebrate 48 years of service, this campaign represents an important step forward for New Hope and the people we serve.”

What Imagine More Will Build

According to New Hope of Indiana, Imagine More is designed to fund a new community and multi-purpose room, a commercial teaching kitchen that will boost skill-building and employment training, renovated indoor areas that improve accessibility and safety, and expanded inclusive outdoor spaces. The organization has also shared a digital walkthrough of the planned changes and hosted open-house previews for staff and families earlier this spring so stakeholders could see what is coming.

Funding, Match and Momentum

WISH-TV reports that United Way of Central Indiana has stepped in with a $1.5 million matching gift, a move New Hope leaders say helped kick the campaign into a higher gear. The match is being promoted as a key incentive to encourage community donations and help unlock additional philanthropic support for the campus transformation.

How To Help And What’s Next

New Hope says the public phase of Imagine More is underway, and individuals, businesses and foundations can chip in through the nonprofit’s campaign site. New Hope's campaign page outlines giving options, showcases the digital walkthrough and details the planned improvements across the Payne Road campus. Even as the campaign rolls forward, the organization continues to provide residential, vocational and therapy services to people across Marion County.
