TechPoint announced today, that Eric Christopher will take over as the nonprofit's next president and CEO, effective tomorrow. A co-founder and longtime chief executive in Indianapolis's enterprise software scene, Christopher has been a familiar face on TechPoint's board since 2018.
TechPoint Makes the Call
According to TechPoint, the CEOs of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership and TechPoint selected Christopher to steer the organization’s strategy, with a particular focus on talent development, access to capital and helping companies adopt AI across Indiana. The Indianapolis Business Journal noted that the hire comes after a national search to replace former CEO Ting Gootee, who moved into a leadership role with CICP.
From Zylo to a Statewide Role
Christopher co-founded Zylo in 2016 and led the SaaS-management firm through product expansion and growth efforts, as outlined in Zylo's newsroom. Before launching Zylo, he logged sales and leadership roles at ExactTarget, Sprout Social and Shoutlet, giving him deep ties in the Midwest software community and a résumé that reads like a tour of regional tech success stories.
What Leaders Are Saying
TechPoint board member Aman Brar said Christopher "brings the leadership and vision needed to build on Indiana’s growing momentum in technology and digital innovation," according to the announcement. For his part, Christopher told TechPoint he is "excited to work alongside TechPoint’s partners, founders, investors, innovators, and talented team" as the organization works to position Indiana as a destination for innovation.
Why It Matters for Indiana
The leadership change comes as TechPoint pushes statewide efforts to expand the tech talent pipeline and connect founders with capital. Ting Gootee’s move to the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership was announced by CICP in 2025, setting the stage for this handoff. Christopher’s track record raising capital and building enterprise software teams will be closely watched as TechPoint shapes its next phase of programs focused on talent, entrepreneurship and AI.
Christopher officially steps into the role on April 7, a start date highlighted in local coverage of the hire. The Indiana tech community will be watching to see how he uses his startup and fundraising experience to help scale opportunity across the state.
