A late-night argument on Chicago’s South Side ended in gunfire early Sunday, leaving two teenage boys wounded after bullets hit their car during a drive through the area, according to police.

Chicago officers were called to the 200 block of W. Pershing Road shortly after 1 a.m., where they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right leg and a 17-year-old boy with a graze wound to his left calf, according to FOX 32 Chicago. The teens told police they were in a car when they got into an argument with people standing on the street. Someone opened fire, hitting both victims before the shooter ran off.

The 18-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and was reported in good condition, while paramedics treated the 17-year-old at the scene, police said. No one was in custody and investigators had not released a suspect description as Area detectives continued their work.

Chicago police said detectives were canvassing the neighborhood and checking for any available surveillance footage that might show the shooter or the confrontation that led up to the gunfire.
