
Authorities pulled a body from a pond on Indianapolis' northwest side Saturday afternoon, then roped off the area as investigators began piecing together what happened.
Firefighters with the Pike Township Fire Department told dispatchers they were called just before 2 p.m. to the 8800 block of Colby Boulevard, off 86th Street near Michigan Road, after someone reported a body in the water, according to WIBC 93.1 FM. Crews pulled the body from the pond and then turned the scene over to IMPD detectives and county investigators.
What officials said
The Marion County Coroner's Office will determine the cause and manner of death, WIBC 93.1 FM reported. IMPD is asking anyone with information to contact the department so detectives can follow up on any leads.
