Authorities emphasized that the public was not in danger while they processed the scene.
Plainfield police said they were dispatched to a robbery in progress at the Chase branch at 807 Southfield Drive, according to Deputy Chief Ryan Salisbury. He told reporters, "There is no ongoing threat or risk to the public," and confirmed that detectives were actively working the case. Salisbury declined to say whether anyone was hurt or whether suspects were in custody or being sought, according to WISH-TV.
Suspect Nabbed Near Amazon Facility
The robbery occurred around 2 p.m., and officers reported that a suspect was detained a short time later near Amazon's Plainfield fulfillment center on Perry Road. WRTV reported that police apprehended a person near the Amazon facility at 800 Perry Road after a brief search of nearby streets.
