Shoppers on Indianapolis' southwest side ran into more than a quick errand on Saturday when IMPD officers swarmed the CVS in the 3700 block of Kentucky Avenue after reports of a shooting. Inside, police found a person with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. The victim was awake and breathing when officers arrived and was taken to a hospital. Detectives stuck around into the evening, collecting evidence and canvassing the area for anyone who saw what went down.
According to FOX59, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said it received a call about the incident on Saturday, April 18, and located the victim on the 3700 block of Kentucky Avenue. As of publication, police had not said whether any suspects or persons of interest had been identified or detained.

Pharmacies have been the scene of violence in Indianapolis before. WISH‑TV reported a shooting inside the Linwood Square CVS on East 10th Street on Oct. 7, 2025, that left three people injured. Local station WIBC later reported investigators arrested a suspect in that case, a reminder of how quickly a tense moment at a retail counter can spiral into gunfire.
