Salt Lake City's Central 9th neighborhood just picked up a little taste of Berlin. Doner And Company, a compact European counter, is now serving Berlin-style döner and other German street food, all from a tight, open counter run by co-owners Talita Wiener-Osman and Christin Brodmeyer-Ashton. The two expats from Austria and Germany built the shop around quick formats like sandwiches, wraps, boxes, and bowls, positioning it as a grab-and-go option for nearby workers and evening crowds.
The menu revolves around an Im Brot sandwich, Dürüm wraps, a Box served with fries, and a Bowl over brown rice, with rotating meat spits of lamb and beef alongside chicken. Non-meat options include falafel and grilled halloumi. As reported by Gastronomic SLC, the owners also feature wiener schnitzel, currywurst, and Croatian-style ćevapi, all prepared in full view of customers at the open counter.
Where to go
The shop lists its address as 915 S Washington Street, along with current hours and a phone number for pickup or orders, on its website. According to Döner & Company, the founders are framing the concept as an authentic Berlin döner experience that leans on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Neighborhood fit and local sourcing
Sharing a wall with Ramen Ichizu on S. Washington, the counter slides neatly into a growing cluster of takeout-focused kitchens in Central 9th. Gastronomic SLC reports that a staff member said Vosen's Bread Paradise is baking the thin, crisp Im Brot loaves for the shop, a detail that highlights the team’s ties to local producers.
Why it matters
For Salt Lake City diners, Doner And Company helps fill a gap for German-style döner and Central European street food that has been relatively scarce in the valley. Vosen's, a long-running German bakery in the city, already supplies bread to area restaurants and lends the new counter a bit of old-world credibility, according to Vosen's Bread Paradise listings.
