Two men showed up at a hospital on Indianapolis’ near north side late Thursday with what police say looked very much like gunshot wounds, and now detectives are trying to work backward to figure out where the bullets actually flew.
Both men were taken into treatment at IU Health Methodist Hospital and were listed in stable condition, according to authorities. So far, police have not said where the shooting happened or whether they have any suspects.
IMPD told reporters that officers were called to Methodist after the two men arrived with injuries consistent with gunfire, according to FOX59. IU Health's website lists Methodist Hospital's downtown campus at 1701 N. Senate Blvd., which is where the victims were treated. FOX59 reported both men were in stable condition and noted that no additional information was available as IMPD continued its early-round questioning and evidence work.
Walk-ins Complicate Investigations
When shooting victims drive themselves or get dropped off at an emergency room, it can throw detectives a curveball. Without an obvious crime scene, police lose precious time trying to figure out where shell casings, witnesses, and cameras might be.
